February is the launch of a new feature at maisieblue’s: Sunday Afternoon Knit-Alongs (or KALs for short). We pick a pattern, meet up once a month on a particular Sunday and knit it along together! The only problem…which patterns do we want to choose?
I’ve put together a quick snapshot poll of the various candidates. Some are quick , a few will take more time with a lovely reward when we’re done and a few are a great challenge to expand our skills. All the patterns have interesting elements that will keep us busy and learning new tricks in the upcoming weeks ahead. Below the poll you’ll find links for each pattern so you can read more details.
Vote for the 4 patterns that would tempt you to come sit with us, sip tea and enjoy a few hours of unfettered knitting time.
So…which are your favorites?
Links for more info:
Baby Surprise Jacket (BSJ) (scroll down page to see description) [on ravelry]
Baktus [on ravelry] Numerous variations on the original pattern are available (lacey, stripes, miters); the first link takes you to loads of pictures…just don’t be startled by the very scary-haired puppets. The scarf is named after a character in a Norwegian children’s classic tale. I promise…you’re scarf won’t look nearly as scary!
Lace Ribbon Scarf [on ravelry]
Morning Train Scarf [on ravelry]
Transition Stash Busting Shawl [on ravelry]
(Unsure of what “ravelry” is? I highly recommend joining to find out-just click the link to check it out. The pattern & yarn database alone is worth it’s weight in wool. Simply put: Ravelry.com is facebook for crafters like us…but much, much cooler. Kimberli can fill you in on all fun bits of life at ravelry.com. Don’t delay… Endless hours of pattern-trawling are merely a few keystrokes away!)
What fun! And the choices–It was hard todecide!
I would like to learn how to make this neck rap.
Which one? The Baktus or the Lace Ribbon.
I cast on a Baktus last night in a larger yarn and loving it! Very easy but fun pattern.
I like them all but I vote for the Morning Train Knock off scarf.
Did you click the little dot to vote? I’ll be looking at the tally reports to see the % of votes each one gets to make a decision. So far the Morning Train is in the running!
Not sure that I should vote as I may not make it to these sessions, but the pattern is sooooo cute!
No please vote…you never know. You might feel inspired to come join us sometimes.
Thought your “knit alongs” were to be on Saturdays….did you just change to Sunday or was I reading it wrong??!!
No this is in addition to our regular Thursday nights and the Classes (Saturdays). This is when we all get together to work on the same pattern.
Very hard to decide — nice job on picking choices, Kim!!
Glad you liked them. I wanted a variety and it’s fun seeing which ones are getting the votes!
Baby Surprise Sweater would by my choice
Baby surprise Sweater would by my choice.
WOW what fun. I would be coming from out of town so would have to be a Saturday or Sunday. I would stay at my moms, she lives in Wilseyville. Blessings, Christine
Are you going to begin selling to use poor unfortunates who have never gotten to pet Malabrigo Yarn?
Waiting patiently. Well, sort of…
Marush from HOC Rav
Of course! Just let me know what you’re looking for. I’ve got some of the malabrigo up on website and just updated the quantities the other day. Have a gander. I’ve got Chunky and Twist in the shop that’s not made it to the website yet. Just pm me on ravelry and we’ll set you up.
You’re welcome! I’m thrilled you’re enjoying yourself so far
